The Spirit Alone

The bible compels us to realise that the Spirit ALONE gives eternal life; human effort accomplishes nothing in itself in this regard.

The very words Jesus spoke to us are both Spirit and life. If you belong to Him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death! Can you believe it?
Christ lives within you (if you know Him), so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God, through faith!
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, will come to live in you, if you are seeking Him and you invite Him in. Just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal body by this same ‘raising from the dead’ Spirit, coming to live WITHIN you. If this really happens to any one of us, He can enable us to be true ministers of His new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but instead of the Spirit. The old written covenant always ended in death (even though it was holy, righteous and good); but under the new covenant that’s soaked in the blood of Christ, it’s the Spirit who gives life; true life, that is found ONLY through Christ. Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under this new way God has established, now that the Holy Spirit is giving out such a life? When the Spirit of truth comes to us, He guides us into all *truth*. Strangely, He will not speak on His own volition, but will instead tell us what He has heard directly from the Father. He will even tell us about the future, if we will listen for Him closely and obey the commands of Jesus out of our love for Him!

Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will only harvest decay and death from that sinful nature, even though it might seem ‘good’ or ‘pleasant’ at the time. But those who live to please the Spirit WILL harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So, don’t be tempted to be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit!

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.” Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires to, drink freely from the water of life… it is extravagantly offered to all, overflowing, and free of charge.
