The Wisdom of Reasonable Fear

So… I’ve often wondered what the Lord our God requires of us; and having studied the bible for over 12 years now, I can confidently assert here and now that He definitely requires that we truly FEAR Him, which means being careful to live in a way that pleases Him, that we would love Him by keeping His commandments and serving Him with all our hearts and souls.

Yes! We must love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength! Please don’t let your hearts be deceived, so that you turn away from the Lord and serve and worship other gods… and don’t be proud and say it can’t happen to you, as it’s very easily done, because we will always (this side of the grave) contend with the sinful flesh, the nature we inherited from Adam, which needs to daily be crucified.

Let me warn you all about something important: suppose there is a prophet among you, or someone who dreams dreams about the future, and they promise you signs or miracles, and then the predicted signs or miracles actually OCCUR.
If they then say, ‘Come, let us worship other gods’ – gods you may have not even known before, so called ‘gods’ other than almighty Jehovah – do not listen to them. The Lord is actually testing you to see if you truly love Him with all your heart and soul. So, my advice is to always serve only the Lord, and fear Him alone. Obey His commands, listen to His voice, and cling to Him for dear life – your eternity depends on it.

God is our shield, saving all those whose hearts are true and right; but sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts. You may have noticed that wicked people have no fear of God at all… and only COMPLETE fools say in their hearts, “There is NO God at all.” Such people are wholly corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does any good at all, in the Lord’s eyes! Sobering truth.
But as for us, we take joy in doing the Lord’s will, for His instructions are written on our hearts!

God surely knows we love Him, for He knows the secrets of every heart! Create in us a clean heart, O God… renew a loyal spirit within us! We know that the sacrifice He really desires is a broken spirit… He will not reject a broken and repentant heart.. Therefore, our hearts should be confident in Him; yes, my heart is confident.
When I consider all He has done for us, it’s no wonder we can sing His praises with such gladness!

Friends, listen to me! Trust in Him at ALL times! Even when you’d think it’s more appropriate to lament and give up. Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge! Our health may fail, and our spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of our hearts; He is ours forever, if we want Him. It is written that light shines on the godly, and joy on those whose hearts are right… so, I pray that You search us, O God, and know our hearts; test us and know our anxious thoughts!
When we discovered Your words, Lord, we devoured them like a hearty meal…. they are our joy and our heart’s delight, for we now bear Your name, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies!
God has made everything beautiful for its own time… He has planted eternity in the human heart. Even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So go ahead! I recommend and encourage everyone here that you all eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!

“My wayward children,” says the Lord to any backslider, “come back to Me, and I will heal your wayward hearts. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, I will not despise”
