What Is REAL Love?

You have all heard what He said, brethren!
“Love your neighbour as yourself”.

Before He went to His cross, He gave us a new commandment, which was to love each other. Yes; just as He has loved us, so He wants us to love each other! That is no small thing.
One of His last prayers that side of the grave was for us to love each other in the same way He has loved us. So powerful…

So then, don’t just pretend to love others! Really LOVE them. Hate what is wrong, yes, but hold tightly to what is good. We must love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honouring each other. Get it into your mind, chew on it, mull it over – we must love each other because He loved us FIRST.
It is written that anyone who loves a fellow believer is truly living in the light, and does not cause others to stumble.
Siblings in Christ, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show that truth by our actions. God has given US this task of reconciling people back to Himself, through Jesus. For our heavenly Father was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And He has given US this wonderful message of reconciliation to witness to the world! We are meant to be Christ’s ambassadors! God is making His appeal to them through US. We speak for Christ to the lost when we plead, “Come back to God!”, for God our Father has made Christ (who never even once sinned) to be the offering for all of our sins, so that we could be made right with Himself through the blood of the sacrificial Lamb.

We must therefore stop evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view, right? Yet, how differently we know Him now! Anyone who truly belongs to Christ has become a new person. That old life should be gone… a new life should’ve begun in us! Now He has reconciled us to Himself through the death of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, in His physical body. The result of this is that He has now brought us into His own presence, having blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ, and we are now holy and blameless as we stand before Him without a single fault!
We were cleansed from all our sins when we obeyed the truth, so now we must all show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. PLEASE BRETHREN! Love each other deeply with all your heart.

All of this revelation is actually a direct gift from God, the One who has brought us back to Himself through Christ. Whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our highest goal should be to please Him, for we must all stand before the Lord Christ to be judged. Make no mistake, we will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

All of us should be of one mind. Sympathise with each other! Truly love each other as brothers and sisters, who are united by blood. Always be tenderhearted with each other, and try to keep a humble attitude even when it hurts. Continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Real love does no wrong to others, and that kind of love amazingly fulfils the requirements of God’s law.
If you could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, If you had the gift of prophecy, if you understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, or if you had such a faith that you could move mountains, yet you didn’t love others, you would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal; you would be less than nothing. So, strive to always be humble and gentle. We must work at being patient with each other, making allowances for each other’s faults because of this love through Christ. YES! Make allowances for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave us, so it is a duty out of respect for Him that we must forgive others. Instead, be joyful! Grow to spiritual maturity; encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace with each other, even with unbelievers, as best you can! When we do so, the God of holy love and genuine peace promises that He will be with us.
God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard we have worked for Him and how we have shown our love to Him by caring for other believers.

Greet each other with a kiss of holy love (or at least a hug) when you meet! Peace be with all of you who are in Christ.
